JODIE NETTLES
Hi, I'm Jodie, an engineer, coach, and creator from Atlanta.
Former All-ACC pole vaulter and Mechanical Engineering graduate from Georgia Tech (2005), Jodie Nettles has always been passionate about the nuances of sports. After college, she was a Two-time National Champion in 11v11 women's tackle football as a long snapper and wide receiver (2006 & 2011), a wide receiver and quarterback for the indoor 7v7 Legends Football League's Atlanta Steam (2013-2015), and a USATF Masters Indoor National Champion in Pole Vault (2019). She has also played all styles of flag football at the local and national level. Jodie discovered a love for sharing her knowledge with younger athletes and became the Pole Vault Coach at Brookwood High School in Gwinnett County, Georgia (2017-2021). When the Atlanta Falcons and USA Football piloted a program to bring girls flag football to Georgia high schools, she became the Head Coach of the inaugural flag football team at Brookwood High School (2018). After that, she partnered with a former teammate as the Assistant Offensive Coordinator & WR Coach for Sequoyah High School in Cherokee County where the team won their County Championship and made it to the State Playoffs in their first season (2019). More recently, she made the jump to coach at the professional level as the WR Coach for the Atlanta Phoenix of the WNFC (2020). She currently serves as the WR Coach for the Atlanta Empire of the Extreme Football League: X League (2021-present). When not coaching, she enjoys watching soccer with her wife, Leigh, and their three-legged pitbull and orange tabby.
